Each year our school 'adopts' a charity and endeavours to
raise money for that charity through a variety of fundraising events. Over the
past eighteen years we have raised in excess of GBP £90,000 for many deserving
causes.

We are now launching our new Charity;
‘Sparks’, which is linked to the Jane Tomlinson’s appeal. Many of you
will remember the redoubtable Jane Tomlinson from Leeds who, when diagnosed
with terminal cancer, embarked on a series of amazing challenges to raise
money for medical charities.
Miss Emily Taylor from the Northwest
Regional office from Sparks will be introducing our children to the charity
during assembly on October 12th.

| 'Sparks
is the children’s medical research charity. Our sole remit is to fund
research across the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine. Our goal is for
all babies to be born healthy and stay healthy. Sparks has had a strong
relationship with Jane Tomlinson for many years. This is because Jane was an
amazing individual supporter of Sparks and raised many thousands of pounds
towards the research we carry out. Jane’s family have continued to work with
Sparks and most notably Sparks is now working as one of the official charity
partners of the Leeds 10K and the York 10k’.
