The Froebelian School, Horsforth is one of the leading independent preparatory schools in the North for children aged 3 to 11 years. Our motto of ‘Giving a flying start to the citizens of tomorrow’ sums up our determination to provide the best possible start to lifelong education.
Providing 51 weeks a year provision for all pupils and free Early Education Entitlement of 30 hours for eligible families, we lay solid foundations for a future relevant lifelong love of learning.
A truly nurturing environment for your child to grow.
Situated in Horsforth, we welcome over 180 pupils between the ages of 3 and 11.
Children are at the heart of everything we do and we are passionate that they enjoy a positive experience, in a warm, friendly, caring, structured and secure environment. To ensure we are laying solid foundations for a lifelong love of learning, to gain knowledge and skills, and develop personal attributes, relevant to their futures, we have made significant investment in our early years provision creating bespoke-designed classrooms and continuous access to an exceptional outdoor space.
We knew from our first visit to the school that it was perfect. Every day our instincts are justified, as we watch our little girl blossom into a confident, delightful and happy little person
With 51 weeks a year provision for all children, our plans for further investment and development in STEAM and Sport, balance both academic and co-curricular spheres of school life and honour our school motto – ‘Giving a flying start to the citizens of tomorrow.’
Our aim is to provide a first class, future focused all-round education with committed and supportive pastoral care enabling us to develop the whole child. Therefore, our children regularly secure a place at their first choice of senior school and we enjoy an excellent scholarship success rate.
The most recent Independent Schools Inspectorate report judged the School as ‘excellent’ (the highest level) for the quality of the pupils’ achievements and personal development.
The children and staff work harmoniously together creating a special place, with a uniquely happy atmosphere.
Our children adore their school, love learning and there is a true sense of fun – please do come and meet them.
The pupils’ attitudes to learning are exceptional
The school is an educational charity where ultimate responsibility rests with a School Council (Governors). The day-to-day running of the school is delegated to the Headteacher, supported by a senior leadership team.
We would love to welcome you to experience life at Froebelian and have a personal tour with the Headteacher, bespoke to your child’s needs. Arrange to visit us soon where you will receive a very warm welcome.
