When we realised we had a cupboard full of books that the school no longer needed, Mrs Miller suggested that we send them to help children in Malawi.
So we did! Mr Barry Brindley from The Zikomo Trust came and collected a whole selection of books for children of all Primary school ages.
The Zikomo Trust supports orphans, vulnerable children and the elderly in Malawi through education, community support and healthcare.
Twice a year the trust sends out a container with educational materials, sports equipment and books for distribution to the primary and secondary schools up and down the country. In 2016 they donated educational items to seven primary schools, six secondary schools, a school for the blind, the University of Malawi and a medical college.
