An Incredible Week of Froebelian Sport

Froebelian sports teams have been travelling across the region over the last week, ‘kicking off’ last Friday with our U11s winning the West Yorkshire Prep School’s Tag Rugby cup competition at Knaresborough RFC. Having been pipped at the post last year the fantastic effort from all involved secured a victory this year! Thank you to Mr Mullis and Mrs Kalaj for accompanying the team.

On Saturday morning, our U9 Cross Country runners braved the cold and muddy conditions to compete in the LSAA Cross Country Race at Prince Henry’s Grammar School. Plenty of Froebelian spirit was needed to get around a  heavy course that was twice as long as their usual distance.  What an incredible effort.

On Tuesday, Mr Mullis accompanied the U9 tag rugby team to a Tag Rugby festival hosted by Bradford Grammar School where they played matches against teams from St Peters, Moorfield, Highfield and the host school. The team achieved some brilliant results but more importantly Mr Mullis commented that the team represented the School in an exemplary manner and each player gave 100% effort.

On Thursday afternoon, our U11 Girls’ Football Team was on the “Road to Wembley” competing against schools from across Leeds in a qualifying event for a national Year 5/6 girls football competition. The girls showed great team spirit and improvement throughout the afternoon winning five and drawing two of their eleven matches. An impressive effort given this was there first time playing together as a team and having only trained together since half term. Thank you to Mrs Soutar who has been coaching the girls on Tuesday afternoons.
