Stuart Andrew MP Visits ‘Outstanding’ Horsforth Nursery
Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough visited First Steps at Froebelian Nursery in Horsforth recently to congratulate them on being awarded outstanding in their first ever Ofsted inspection.
The MP met Head of Nursery Rachel Burton and Froebelian Headteacher Catherine Dodds at the private day nursery on New Road Side, which only opened 18 months ago.
OFSTED said of the nursery: “The leadership and management are inspirational. The children’s behaviour is exemplary, as a result of the staff’s high expectations and consistent interaction. Children’s confidence and self-esteem are encouraged extremely well, enabling them to develop positive attitudes and ensuring their individual well-being.”
Stuart Andrew said: “It was a real pleasure to visit First Steps to congratulate them on their first ever Ofsted inspection. It really is a well-deserved accolade; I could see instantly why the nursery received outstanding in every area. It is a wonderful environment for children and Rachel and her staff are a true credit in providing extremely important early years education.”
Rachel Burton added: “We were delighted to welcome Stuart Andrew to First Steps following our recent success. We opened our doors in August 2015 with an attendance of just four children per week and just 17 months later there is a waiting list extending until 2019 with an exceptionally high demand for places.”
