Form IV is our Year 6 Class for children aged 10-11 Key Stage 2

In Year 6, all the teaching is provided on a specialist basis to enable the pupils to reach exceptional standards and to help them prepare for the transition to secondary education.

The curriculum is designed to both engage and challenge and it is complemented by homework and pupils are encouraged to read regularly.

Pupils’ learning is enriched through activities, visiting speakers and outings. They also have further experiences and opportunities through music, drama and sporting events and fixtures.

Over the course of the year pupils in Form IV undertake their FIVe Steps Challenge which aims to support the children’s personal development across a range of key disciplines:
·      The Physical Challenge
·      The Mental Challenge
·      The Citizenship Challenge
·      The Creative Challenge
·      The Life Skills Challenge

Froebelian provides an opportunity to pass a set challenge in each discipline to help them manage their own mental health during the transition to High School. The children often have their own ideas for personal challenges they would like to complete and  it all culminates with the presentation of a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award on Speech Night in the Summer term.

Pupils in Form IV are also given the opportunity to undertake the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge as well as participating in a wide range of activities to achieve their FIVe Steps Challenge awards.

The end of the summer term culminates in our annual speech night performance, where every pupil plays a part.
