Safeguarding at Froebelian – Keeping Children Safe is Everyone’s Responsibility
We recognise that pastoral care for every pupil encompasses a duty to keep them safe and we are committed to embedding safeguarding into every aspect of school life.

If you have concerns about a child contact our safeguarding team at shareit@froebelian.co.uk

The Froebelian Family supports every single child, current and prospective, – our children are at the heart of everything we do and their safety, happiness and wellbeing is our priority.

Our pupils may face difficulties and challenges in their personal or school lives, so we ensure they have access to support to help them manage difficulties and to develop resilience.
Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm by:  taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcome; protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s health or development; and ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.

Safeguarding encompasses child protection, health care plans, health and safety measures, site security, safety on school trips and in co-curricular activities, mental health, online safety, anti-bullying and much more.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. The whole Froebelian Staff Family has safeguarding training at the start of each academic year and receive regular safeguarding updates throughout the year. All staff know what to look out for and how to raise a concern. We also issue every new visitor to our site with safeguarding reminders and information.

Our Designated Safeguarding Team meets regularly, reports to the Governors and ensures that policies, procedures and training are kept up to date.

Our PSHEE programme Jigsaw helps teach our pupils about how to keep themselves and their friends safe, with a wide range of topics that include relationships, sex and health education, road and rail safety, mental health topics, and keeping safe online.

Our Safeguarding Policy is regularly reviewed in line with government guidance and our Safer Recruitment Policy is reviewed regularly to ensure that safe decisions are made concerning the suitability of any prospective employee.
