Former Great British Pentathlete, Liz McGurk Joins The Froebelian Family

Liz brings a wealth of experience to her role as PE and Games Lead Teacher.
With 14 years of experience in Primary Education, and extensive experience as a Health and Wellness Specialist and Personal Trainer Liz is passionate about working collaboratively with others, fostering positive attitudes towards PE and Games and creating an inclusive environment.
She said: “As a Mum of two, I am passionate about the health and wellness of the younger generation and enjoy finding unique ways to make physical activity fun and enjoyable.
I have recently delivered a number of successful fitness sessions, nutrition workshops and wellness mornings to children aged 5-14 in a variety of settings to teach the importance of a healthy body and healthy mind and I am excited to introduce these concepts to the whole Froebelian Family, including pupils, staff and parents.”
With a BSc (Hons) in Sport Studies, a Level Three in Personal Training, Level Two in Understanding Nutrition and an HND in Coach Education and Sports Performance, Liz is also the founder of FitPod which is an App that collaborates with corporate partners, creating wellness cultures within organisations to prioritise employee wellbeing.
Headteacher Anna Coulson said; “I am confident that Liz’s strong leadership skills combined with her breadth of experience across multiple sporting disciplines, including netball, hockey, swimming, gymnastics, athletics, yoga and rounders, whilst establishing clear, shared understandings of the importance of PE and Games in contributing to pupils’ holistic development, will take Froebelian’s sporting provision from strength to strength.”
Liz added: “I am excited about the opportunity to bring my passion for education, health, and wellness to the Lead PE and Games Teacher role at Froebelian and I am confident that my diverse skill set, collaborative mindset, and commitment to excellence align seamlessly with the School’s values and goals.”
