The team of FPTA volunteers has worked tirelessly this year creating some incredible social events for the School. The academic year began with a welcome back to school event on Open Day which was a lovely opportunity for families to come together following the summer break. In December, we enjoyed the “Christmas Cracker” – a multitude of activities were planned instead of our traditional Christmas Fair due to the Covid restrictions at the time. This included an evening of wreath-making with Silver Grey Foliage where a group of parents enjoyed making amazing Christmas wreaths to hang on their doors.
It was time for Bedtime Stories in February for Pre-Prep children. At this event, the children excitedly changed into their pyjamas or onesies and enjoyed bedtime stories with a hot dog/veggie dog tea and a hot chocolate. The Froebelian Dinner Dance was held at The Royal Armouries in March. A red-carpet event with a casino and dancing was enjoyed by all and it was lovely to see a few couples from Pre-Prep trying out their first School Dinner Dance – we hope you recommend the evening to your class friends for next year! And last but by no means least, we held the spectacular Jubilee Summer Fair which was a fabulously supported event and great fun for all the family.
In addition to our social events, we held our first Bag2School collection in January and the ever-popular Pre-loved Uniform Sale was also back! It’s a great opportunity to stock up on uniform items at reduced prices ready for the change in uniform twice a year. Family and friends opting to shop with Amazon Smile has also added an extra boost to funds.
Thanks to the continued efforts and dedication of the FPTA team, we have helped school to fund the wonderful climbing frame in the Pre-Prep playground, a portable speaker for school to use at outside events and in Music lessons, playground toys including board game picnic tables, and replacement trikes and scooters.  Not only that, the Climbing Wall in the Junior playground which is very near completion is thanks again to the FPTA.
We must not forget the Happiness Hut.  With delays due to the pandemic, the team has worked relentlessly to ensure its completion and we are hoping to host a launch party in the new term. A massive thank you to Mr Tolson for his generous donation of the hut.
